CRUISE NIGHT (1994-2005)
In response to the 1994 World Cup in Southern California, Roland Communications conceived the GLENDALE SUMMER STREET PARTIES (“Cruise Night” and “Country-Western Night”), two street concerts on Brand Boulevard designed to attract international tourists to the streets of Glendale.
To supplement the Street Parties, we produced and distributed over 300,000 tourist guides throughout Southern California and implemented major public relations, marketing, and community outreach programs. An estimated 10,000 people attended each party and set the foundation for what would become one of the City of Glendale’s most successful special events.
For the subsequent three years, Roland booked and promoted up to three “Summer Street Parties” per summer with such artists as Eric Burdon and the Animals, Jefferson Starship, Iron Butterfly, Robbie Krieger of the Doors, Spirit, Big Brother and the Holding Company, Elvin Bishop, Spencer Davis, and many others.
From 1994 to 2005, Roland was responsible for the following services for CRUISE NIGHTS #1 through #13: Talent Bookings (Dick Dale, Jan & Dean, The Nelsons, Freddie Cannon, The Surfaris, The Chantays, The Champs, and many others); Public Relations; Publicity; Advertising; Marketing; Promotion; Sponsorship (solicit, contract, fulfill); Staging; Sound; Backstage Receptions; Coordination of Special Guests and Attractions (e.g., Billy Gibbons of ZZ Top; George Barris and the Batmobile, Munsters Coach, etc.); and more.

THE GROVE AT FARMERS MARKET: CULTURAL DAY AT THE GROVE (2009-Present)
Produce, market, and promote the Sister Cities of Los Angeles “Cultural Day at the Grove” (at Farmers Market), a four-hour celebration of international dance and music. Coordination of all logistics with Caruso Affiliates; structure, script, and direct the program for live broadcast on L.A. Cityview 35; recruit all entertainment and the following consul generals and dignitaries:

Over 100 musicians, dancers, and singers perform in the Grove’s outdoor park representing the cities of Nagoya, Japan; Eilat, Israel; Jakarta, Indonesia; Beirut, Lebanon; Mumbai, India; Taipei, Taiwan; Berlin, Germany; Mexico City, Mexico; and Lusaka, Zambia. Performances range from ten minutes to forty-five minutes and include dance groups from Indonesia, Taiwan, Lebanon, and Mumbai; Berlin’s recreation of 1930s German cabarets; and Mexico City’s 45-piece orchestra of children age 6 to 19, Banda Juvenil Santiago Comaltepec.
Fourteen-year representation as agency of record that continues in 2016 for an association of up to twenty-eight Harley-Davidson dealerships in California, serving as a liaison with corporate offices in Milwaukee on co-op advertising campaigns and special promotions.
Coordinated numerous million-dollar media cross promotions: GMC/Pontiac, Miller Genuine Draft, Ralphs Markets, In-N-Out Burger, Food For Less, and others; special promotions with the House of Blues, Sony/Legacy, Fender Guitars, Gibson Guitars, Capitol Records, and more…

Comprehensive marketing and promotion of the Harley-Davidson Love Ride for 20 years beginning with #8 in 1992 through #29 in 2013.
Roland Communications was a major force in helping build the event into the largest motorcycle fund-raising event in the world, raising over $20 million for charities that included MDA.

L.A. LIVE: St. Patrick's Day Festival at L.A. Live (2010, 2011, 2012)
Walter Moore was the speechwriter for the automotive legend in 2005 and 2006. He worked closely with Mr. Iacocca drafting concepts for over a dozen speeches, including the unveiling of the $300,000 Mercedes-Benz Maybach 65.
Moore also wrote Iacocca’s acceptance speech for the Autorox Automotive Icon Award, televised from Las Vegas on Spike TV. (Click here for a link to a video of the speech on YouTube.) Moore also contributed material for Keifer Sutherland’s introduction of Mr. Iacocca.
Other speeches included Mr. Iacocca’s acceptance of Harvard’s Healthy Cup Award and a commencement speech for the Valpariso University School of Law.

Designed and produced annual fundraising galas and special events for Providence Saint Joseph Medical Center Foundation in Burbank and Providence Holy Cross Medical Center Foundation in Mission Hills for 6 years.
